Michael Schneider, BA, MSc

After his dual studies in business administration and psychosocial counseling, Michael Schneider (born 1972) initially embarked on a classic corporate career, including:

  • Trainer at the Educational Institute of the Vienna Economic Chamber
  • Secondment to the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt
  • International work as financial director in Africa

At the age of 34, he decided on a fundamental change of direction. He left the traditional career path to dedicate himself more to social and societal issues. One of his first formative stations led him as a development aid worker to Mozambique, where he engaged in the fight against HIV and AIDS. This was followed by other countries, professional stations, and encounters that sustainably broadened his view of people, cultures, and different life realities.

Today, Michael Schneider connects worlds that at first glance seem far apart: financial markets and entrepreneurial thinking, social engagement, and travel with purpose.

At the center of it all is a question that runs like a red thread through his life path: How can economic freedom, social responsibility, and personal development be combined?

For him, these areas are not contradictions. They are different facets of a self-determined life – a life in which success is not measured solely by what one achieves, but also by the experiences one makes, the people one encounters, and what one takes away from that for one's own life path.

  • I wish you a butterfly
The ant Amelie dreams of leaving her rule-governed anthill and reaching the mountains on the horizon. On her way, she encounters the butterfly and the eagle, who open up new perspectives for her and accompany her on her journey. Her story becomes a metaphor for a courageous and self-determined life: recognizing one's own dreams, overcoming resistance, and finding the courage to walk one's own path.
The butterfly stands for change and development, the eagle for vision and freedom.
